History:  In 1932, Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital opened its doors with a staff of three; one superintendent, one day nurse, and one night nurse.  The nine-bed hospital admitted an average of three patients per day.  Lebanon's first "cottage hospital" was the gift of Alice Peck Day, born September 7, 1860, at her family's residence, The Peck Homestead, site of the original hospital.  When Alice passed away in 1927, she bequeathed her "homestead and the entire estate to establish a cottage hospital...".  The APD system of health care is supported by over 450 employees, physicians, and allied health professionals, in over 30 specialties and clinical areas, all working together to provide a comprehensive health care experience.  We take pride in giving our patients the personal care and attention they deserve.

About the Location:
Located in the Upper Connecticut River Valley at the intersections of the states of New Hampshire and Vermont, Alice Peck Day Medical Center is close to recreational activities such as alpine and x-country skiing, hiking, biking, boating, excellent public and private school systems, Dartmouth College, Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Norris Cotton Cancer Center as well as many cultural venues for music, theatre and other arts.  The Upper Valley (as it is called) is only 1.5 hours from Manchester, NH and Burlington, VT airports, and only 2 hours from Boston.  The small town atmosphere, in the beautifull hilly country-side is a highly desirable location for both families and young professionals to live.  The state of New Hampshire also has neither a sales tax, nor a state income tax.

About the Department:
The Information Services department is a small and personable team of professionals who work very closely together to provide services to the hospital and APD-owned clinics.  Services include Telecommunications, Networks (LAN & WAN), Desktop systems, and Applications Support for the primary systems of Meditech MAGIC 5.5, and Amicas PACS, interfaces/integration, as well as several smaller applications for other organizational functions (billing, dictation, time and attendance, etc.).  Current or near future projects include an ambulatory EMR for the clinics, a campus-wide Wireless Network and Outlook Exchange.

Current Position(s) Available:

Information Systems Analyst - Financial/Billing
Permanent, Full-Time

Description:
The Financial/Billing IS Analyst works with existing analysts, programmer analysts, and management on the Information Systems Team.  This individual will be responsible for supporting and enhancing the financial and billing applications within the MEDITECH MAGIC HIS system as well as other ancillary financial applications being implemented ( Eligibility Verification, 3rd Party Statement Vendors, MCR D Billing, EMR).  This individual will participate in the implementation of automated financial processes (electronic claims processing, enhanced claim checking, electronic remittances/denial management, contractual arrangement management), and will work closely with user departments to define data and reporting needs.  This position has a strong emphasis on programming skills for providing IT solutions to business problems and to meet ongoing business needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS or Associate degree in Information Technology or other related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in Information Technology in the above mentioned role
  • Healthcare Accounting experience highly preferred

Experience Required / Desired:

  • MEDITECH MAGIC experience
  • ESP Billing Software experience
  • MEDITECH NPR report writing
  • Microsoft Office Tools
  • Interface People Script/Assist

Clinical Information Systems Analyst - EMR Project
Permanent, Full-Time

Description:
The Clinical IS Analyst works with existing analysts, programmer analysts, and management on the Information Systems Team.  This individual will be immediately responsible for implementing a new Electronic Medical Record (EMR) in the APD-owned clinics, including interfaces to the MEDITECH HIS system.  It is expected that this individual will attend 3-4 weeks of training by the vendor which will certify this individual to lead the implementation.  This individual will work with the project team members, including physicians and other clinicians, in documenting and redesigning workflows to maximize efficiencies.  Once implemented, this individual will be the primary support for the EMR application, including future enhancements.  It is also expected that this person will learn and support various modules in the MEDITECH HIS system as assigned, and share overall support with the other analysts for the MEDITECH system.  This position has a strong emphasis on programming skills for providing IT solutions to business problems and to meet ongoing business needs.

Minimum Qualifications / Requirements:

  • BS or Associate degree in Information Technology, Nursing Informatics or other related field
  • 5 - 8 years of experience in Information Technology and/or Clinical Informatics
  • Ambulatory clinic or Practice Management experience
  • License in Nursing, Practice Management, or related field
  • Implementation and/or support of a clinic EMR application
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Team building
  • Project Management
  • Healthcare Accounting experience highly preferred
  • Experience in programming and database analysis/design with SQL, MS Access, Visual Basic, and/or MUMPS

Clinical Information Systems Programmer Analyst

Description:
The Clinical IS Programmer Analyst works with existing analysts and management on the Information Systems Team.  This individual will be primarily responsible for developing and maintaining interfaces between the MEDITECH HIS system and other applications (PACS, EMR, Transcription, etc.); participating in the implementation and support of automated clinical applications; working with user departments to define data and reporting needs; and directing quality assurance efforts through the creation of test plans and test matrixes.

Minimum Qualifications / Requirements:

  • BS or Associate degree in Information Technology or other related field
  • 3-8 years of experience in Information Technology in the above mentioned functions
  • Healthcare industry experience

  • SQL syntax and queries
